Demo system

I never posted but, as a supporter of the development of a eyeOS 1.x fork, I've been watching this project for long.
It's great that you just released some version people can download and install (even if it's just a RC).

I've setup an oneye server on one of my servers, at http://lithium.gbl08ma.com/oneye . It's great for showing what oneye has to offer without installing it on your own - I'm not responsible for any data loss, but I'll try to keep oneye updated as updates come out. If you want to login on my server, just create a new account.

Keep up the good work!
Gabriel

Of course I agree. Just note that it is installed on a server I got for free from a friend, so there's no warranty the server and the data will not vanish or go offline some day. As I said, it's for testing and demonstrating, not for people to use it as their main cloud desktop.

Re: Demo system

Hi,

http://lithium.gbl08ma.com/oneye seems to be down for some days sad

If needed, you can reach my french test-oneye here: http://testoneye.sable-web.fr/ .
You can login as an admin with (User name/Password) admin/admin or as a simple user with test/test.
The default language is french but you can also choose english and german via "Préférences Système" -> "Langue". wink

Hi Lars,

No problem for me! It's a pleasure to help the oneye's community wink

Note: Users of my oneye have to know that:

  • this system is regulary (at least once a month) updated with the svn files to provide the latest version of oneye (a kind of oneye 0.8.0 + cool ). So, it can sometimes be slightly disrupted for a short time, due to an update process.

  • Users can:

    • create their own account
      or

    • simply login with (login/password) test/test to see how oneye runs
      or

    • with admin/admin to see how oneye can be manage

  • due to this last point, created user accounts and their files/documents may be deleted, without distinction, to free up disk space.

French explanation available here.

Regards.

Sorry, but it stops loading and keeps saying "Bitte warten..." ("Please wait..."). Don't you have the same problem?

No, I don't... But I know it happens a lot, because I'm using a free server. So, if you can't use it... Well, don't use it tongue

Re: Demo system

I think the problem lies with the four lines (automatically injected by the host, perhaps?) at the end of the page code. If you look at the source in your browser you'll see

<!-- www.000webhost.com Analytics Code -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://analytics.hosting24.com/count.php"></script>
<noscript><a href="http://www.hosting24.com/"><img src="http://analytics.hosting24.com/count.php" alt="web hosting" /></a></noscript>
<!-- End Of Analytics Code -->

sitting after the html tag.

Safari doesn't seem to mind them being there, which may be why espectalll123 find it works, but both Firefox and Opera refuse to continue (FF gives a "Junk after document element" error)

Re: Demo system

Fine, just updated http://wiki.lars-sh.de/demo smile !

Sable, do you really run an oneye SVN build? It seems you're still using the latest RC instead?!

I thought it was but maybe I've made a mistake uploading svn files... To be sure, I actually re-update with the new ones.

Info: since this announcement, there's an average of 2.15 new users per day on my demo-server (without counting visitors who use "test" or "admin" to discover oneye) smile
