eyeUpload without flash

Hello,
Flash is dying, why not replace the fash in eyeUpload directly by a drag and drop in html5?

Re: eyeUpload without flash

I wish flash weren't dying.  It's actually one of the coolest things about the internet.  Anyway, there is already a non-flash alternative built in to the oneye interface.  In one emulation that had no flash plugin, the flash interface never even appeared.  It only showed the 2 non-flash options.

Re: eyeUpload without flash

It'd be possible to allow dropping files directly to the oneye desktop or single eyeFiles windows, but I've not enough time to realize that, sorry sad

Re: eyeUpload without flash

Maybe a silly question, but does the login screen call flash?  In one of my virtual machines that didn't have a flash installed yet, I got a flash error on the oneye login screen.

Re: eyeUpload without flash

It does not.

We're checking for flash support and save the result in a variable - but that check is pure JavaScript.

Re: eyeUpload without flash

I get the error when trying to load oneye into linux systems that don't have flash yet.  The only real problem is I can't figure out how to install flash on most linux systems.  sad  It might be something to check into.

Re: eyeUpload without flash

What kind of error (type, message text, eventually screenshot, ...) do you get?

Re: eyeUpload without flash

It's probably not going to be a huge problem, as it took me awhile to find a system that would still give me the error. In one or two cases, they installed flash on their own and in others, they still didn't have flash, but didn't give the error a second time.  Finally I found a system that still gives the error in one of those yellowish colored "info bars" at the top of the page-  "Additional plugins required to display all media on this page" and a download link to adobe flash.  Which would be great if I knew anything about installing software on linux. There's 4 or 5 packages to choose from. Anyway, the page logged in and responded normally after that, but the error message stayed at the top of the page in the yellow box.
